Toenails smell of strong cheese?

I just cut my toe nails and there strange smell coming from it, like really strong cheddar. Sorry if this sounds gross but the best way for me to to describe it is a cheesy smell. It does not taste like cheese so I’m not sure why it smells like it. It makes me nauseous but I can’t seem to stop sniffing it. What is this? How do I prevent this in the future? Disease?
