Books about murder/disappearance cases?

I love reading about real life situations involving murder mysteries such as the American student Amanda Knox convicted of the murder of her roommate or about disappearances abroad such the case of American student gone missing Natalee Holloway. I've read The Secret History by Donna Tartt which involved students and a homicidal act and loved it. I'd like to read something like that again. Any recommendations along those lines?
